Novotel Stevenage, Stevenage

The hotel rooms were lovely and spacious, with a great sofa bed and plenty of charging plugs. I appreciated the separate toilet room from the bath and shower area, and they quickly accommodated my request for extra towels. However, there was no contact number for previous staff, leading to delays in room access, and the lack of a greeting upon arrival made it a bit confusing initially. The room was equipped with nice extras like an iron, ironing board, and modern bed lights.

The hotel offers something really different from what is already out there, situated just off the motorway, and out of the way from the noisy A1. The rooms were very dated and in need of a good clean, but they did have tea and coffee available. The service was a mix of being difficult to communicate with but also very helpful, especially with low occupancy levels. The location was fantastic, within walking distance from Knebworth House and with a small park area for children. The dining experience was very good, with early availability and great homemade rolls. The facilities were average, but the dining could not keep up with the demand for coffee and cooked food.

The hotel offers a chilled out vibe close to Hitchin, making it convenient for a relaxing stay. The rooms are clean, bright, and airy but a bit dated in terms of decor. The service was rushed and not understanding at times. The location is great for visiting Knebworth House but overlooks a busy slip road. The dining experience was below standard, and some bookings were canceled unexpectedly.
